I’m an avid reader. Wait, that’s not quite right. “Avid reader” is actually a woeful understatement. All right, I’ll just come out and say it:
Hi. My name is Noelle, and I’m addicted to reading.
I’ve been this way since I was a kid. Even when I was very young, I read everything, to the point of absurdity. I read cereal boxes and building directories and street signs. I read books that were wildly inappropriate for my age (but I think I turned out all right).
I also noticed, even at a young age, when other people made errors in their writing. I noticed typos, and I noticed when writers used clunky phrasing that pulled me out of what I was reading. And it bothered me…a lot. Eventually, I started correcting and improving documents for my friends and family. I’ve been the “go-to girl” for proofreading and editing since I was a teenager.
Why am I telling you all this?
Because I have more than a decade of real-world editing experience (at the tender age of 28) with a wide variety of documents. I’ve edited fiction and nonfiction books, business plans, resumes, marketing materials, technical documentation, academic articles, websites and blogs, and much more.
I am a member of the American Copy Editors Society, and I hold a certificate in editing from the Poynter Institute. Besides catching those pesky typos and errors, I will ensure that your writing is clear, accurate, and engaging.
